The focus of the Global Academy of Sacred Music is to facilitate Courses and Masterclasses in sacred music from a very unique perspective. It fosters the playing of sacred music as spontaneous, inspired improvisations. This is done utilising a unique and insightful method which has been missing from the West since the end of the Renaissance over 500 years ago, and which allows improvised music to form as meaningful, mature, coherent and finely crafted compositions.

MYSTICAL IMPROVISATION

These fresh and inspirational compositions are what its founder RupertG describes as "inspired mystical improvisations" and likens them to being like spontaneously downloading latticeworks which arrive perfectly formed, and which make intrinsic sense to us at a level deeper than the thinking mind, in much the same way Aboriginal dot-painting does.

WHAT IS SACRED MUSIC?
The all-time defining factor of it being sacred music at the Global Academy is that it entirely transports the listener into a healing experience.

This is the music of the ancients. This introduces to sacred music the ancient art of mystical improvisation and reunites sacred music in the 21st century with the inspiration, originality and intensity not seen since Hildegard von Bingen, Hafiz and Rumi and the mystical bards throughout the ages.

ABOUT THE COURSES
The courses offered by the Global Academy of Sacred Music are all hands-on and dedicated to producing music which vibrates with sacredness and healing energies. It departs from sacred music in the common western sense of the word because it is not about reproducing a masterwork from the past, but rather creates music each time anew.

It also departs from improvisation in the normal sense, which is almost without exception jazz or analytical based. Instead it takes a unique system of classical music improvisation and extends it even further into a more intuitive, mystical approach and concerns itself with the quality of energy or feeling behind the music, and the musician's intent. These aspects form the most powerful elements which define the essence of any music.

Successful courses have already been run in the UK, Austria, Italy and Australia over the last three years. Attendees have ranged from medical practitioners, healing and complimentary medicine specialists to distinguished European classical concert artists.
